Sushi Palace
About This Spot
Stepping into Sushi Palace in the heart of Somerville feels like slipping into a quietly bustling corner of Japan, where the rhythm is gentle but assured. The space, intimate and softly lit, invites close conversation and shared moments over carefully crafted plates. It’s the kind of place where the subtle sounds of clinking chopsticks and low murmurs blend with the faint scent of seaweed and steamed rice, creating an atmosphere that’s simple yet layered with warmth.
The pace here is unhurried but lively, reflecting a steady flow of locals and sushi lovers who appreciate the balance between approachable comfort and genuine culinary craft. Tables might be close, encouraging a sense of communal dining where each visit feels like joining in on a long-standing local tradition rather than just grabbing a quick bite.
The menu quietly tells stories of careful attention—each roll thoughtfully composed with a generous balance of fresh fish and perfectly seasoned rice, catering to those who savor both classic and adventurous flavors. Whether you’re indulging in the delicate slices of sashimi or exploring a variety of rolls that range from familiar favorites to unexpected combinations, the experience is one of discovery. A bowl of miso soup or a crisp seaweed salad offers a comforting backdrop, while the occasional tempura appetizer adds a satisfying crunch to the meal.
For those who enjoy embracing the fullness of the experience, the all-you-can-eat options present a thoughtful journey through Japanese comfort food, blending sushi and kitchen specialties in a way that feels generous but never rushed. It’s a place where freshness and care are apparent, where flavors are balanced without being overstated, and where the focus remains on the simple pleasure of well-prepared food shared in good company.
Here, the mood is familiar yet quietly spirited—a neighborhood gem for anyone who values a genuine connection to the food, the space, and the people around the table.

For all you can eat the food is solid. There were two rolls not to our liking but overall we enjoyed everything. The sashimi was definitely the highlight As far as the atmosphere goes the tables are cramped and even as a relatively thin guy I was bumped into three times. Not intentionally, just the way the layout is. You will definitely hear your neighbors as well which to me isn’t a big deal but it’s helpful to know

Great, quick service. Food is unbelievably delicious with a wide variety of options for food. I'm gonna be thinking about the pink lady roll for days

Food is so fresh and on point. They don't skimp on the fish. Well balanced rice to fish ratio on the rolls. There is a large selection of food. For $35 it's worth it for AYCE.

The sushi here is truly outstanding. Each roll is made fresh with top-tier ingredients, and the flavors come through perfectly. It’s easily one of the most impressive sushi spots in Somerville, and I look forward to returning again.

I love Sushi Palace! This place was my introduction to sushi 9 years ago, and I have been coming here, (along with the other locations throughout NJ) ever since. They have a regular non unlimited sushi menu and the unlimited sushi menu. I've only ever ordered from the unlimited sushi menu. It's the perfect mix of cooked food (kitchen menu) and sushi. It's a dimly lit, intimate spaIf you're visiting on a weekend, expect a wait and a FULL house, I mean no empty seats at all. I visited last Saturday, and our wait time for a party of 3 was about 40 minutes. One of the best things about Sushi Palace is their unlimited sushi menu. It's best to go with a large group, so you can order a wider variety of rolls without getting full too quickly. Lately, they've even added an additional menu with new items, which is a nice touch. Every time I visit Sushi Palace, I always start with Kani salad, edamame, and shumai, it's the perfect way to kick off the meal. My go to rolls are the Pink Lady, Butterfly, and Volcano, they never disappoint. I always bring my friends and family here to introduce them to sushi, and it's become my go to spot. Be prepared to wave your waiter/waitress over whenever you want to put in another order, which I actually appreciate. Most of the time, they mainly come by to clear plates, so if you're waiting for them to ask about your next round of food, you might be sitting there for a while. Whether you're a sushi lover or not, I believe that Sushi Palace is a must visit!

Went here today for some takeout sushi. It’s a typical sushi joint and very similar to other restaurants in the area, I think most have the same sushi menu. I ordered peanut avocado, vegetable roll, and tofu skin roll. Peanut avocado I would give an 8/10. Sushi pieces are kind of small but about card was fresh and peanuts were crushed which makes it easier to eat. Vegetable roll I would also give an 8/10. It had avocado, cucumber, and carrots. Very green. Tofu skin I would give a 7/10 only because the tofu is kind of sweet and I don’t really like savory food being sweet. This place has a good amount of vegetarian options and the service is nice and fast. Prices are typical in the area and unfortunately everything is a little pricey these days. Overall I would recommend and come back.

My wife and I go here about once every 2 weeks. We love sushi and this place makes delicious, fresh sushi! The all you can eat sushi during the week is a great deal. We go hungry and make it count! Never had an issue with freshness or quality. Highly recommend!
